SEA TOOLS
Load Line & Max Cargo
Trim, draft survey & load line
How to use
- Set up My Ship once (paste hydrostatics, holds, tanks from your booklet).
- Work through loading in order: plan cargo, check load line, trim to finish, then survey.
- Soundings feed Draft Survey deductibles; export or print trim and survey worksheets.
Example values — edit any field.
Reference worksheets only. Verify every result against your ship's approved loading computer, stability booklet, and company procedures.
Hand calc: stop = min(load-port max 14.171 m, zone 14.0 + DWA 0.171 m + consumption allowance 0.072 m) − sag 0.000 m = 14.171 m. Sag reduces the draft you may load to (hog/sag allowance). Load-port cap binds: displacement at stop stays the summer SW table value (DWA is draft allowance, not added weight).
Cap-binding example (summer 14.00 m load port, zone 14.00 m): stop ≈ 14.171 m → Δ 80 000 t, max cargo 48 000 t. Zone-binding example (tropical load 14.29 m, voyage to summer 14.00 m): zone limit ≈ 14.244 m < tropical cap → Δ 80 500 t with 500 t consumption aboard, max cargo 48 500 t.
Max cargo = displacement at stop − lightship − constant − deductibles = 80000 − 12000 − 0 − 20000 = 48000 t
