Passage Planning is a free study and working aid from Maritime Match. It helps deck officers check that they have covered the main parts of passage planning.
It is not the ship's passage plan and it does not approve anything. Only the Master approves a passage plan, on the ship's own form under its Safety Management System. Your company's procedures, the ship's approved equipment and the latest corrected official charts and publications always take priority over this tool.
The checklists are general. They cannot cover every ship, route or company requirement. The calculators give estimates from standard published methods. They do not replace the ship's own data, the official tide predictions, or the judgment of the Master and officers.
References to conventions, IMO guidance and publications are given so you can check the source yourself. They were checked on the date shown at the bottom of the page and may have changed since.
Everything you enter stays on this device. Maritime Match does not see it.
